Architecture. A hollow moulding, esp. a cavetto. Also, a matrix made to receive a monumental brass. LME.
A vertically-hinged frame with glass forming (part of) a window (the usual sense); literary a window. M16.
Comb.: casement cloth plain fabric used chiefly for curtains; casement window: with a vertically-hinged frame.
