Any of several tropical Asian trees of the family Flacourtiaceae, esp. Hydnocarpus kurzii, whose seeds yield an oil (chaulmoogra oil) formerly used to treat skin diseases.

chaulmoogric acid, a soft yellowish cyclopentene derivative, C17H31COOH, which is a major constituent of chaulmoogra oil E20.
