Orig., the silver ragwort, Senecio cineraria, grown for its hoary leaves. Now, any of various garden hybrids of the allied Pericallis cruenta, of the Canary Islands, with corymbs of daisy-like blue, purple, etc., flower-heads, grown as pot plants.
