injection noun. LME.
[French, or Latin injectio(n-), formed as INJECT: see -ION.]
The action of or an act of driving or forcing (a fluid) into a passage, cavity, or solid material under pressure; esp. in Medicine, introduction of a medicine, preservative, etc., by means of a (hypodermic) syringe. LME.

b. In full fuel injection. The direct introduction of fuel under pressure into the combustion unit of an internal-combustion engine. E20.

c. The act of introducing a current, beam of particles, etc., into a substance or device. M20.
d. Astronautics. The (time of) entry or placing (of a spacecraft, satellite, etc.) into an orbit or trajectory. M20.
