I.
a. spec. Divine prompting or guidance; esp. that under which the books of Scripture are believed by some to have been written. ME.
moral inspiration: according to which the inspiration of Scripture is confined to moral and religious teaching. plenary inspiration: according to which the inspiration of Scripture extends to all subjects treated. verbal inspiration: according to which every word of Scripture is dictated by God.
