A highly contagious and fatal disease of cats, particularly young cats, caused by feline panleukopenia virus, a member of the family Parvoviridae, and manifested by severe leukopenia, prostration, fever, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Synonym: distemper, feline agranulocytosis, feline distemper, feline infectious enteritis.
