Rich Chocolate Sauce (recipes)


Rich Chocolate Sauce

Yield: Makes about 1-3/4 cups sauce



Ingredients:



1cup whipping cream

1/3cup light corn syrup

1cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips

1to 2 tablespoons dark rum (optional)

1teaspoon vanilla









Preparation:





1.Place whipping cream and corn syrup in heavy 2-quart saucepan. Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Add chocolate chips, rum, if desired, and vanilla; stir until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Cool 10 minutes.2.Serve chocolate sauce warm or pour into clean glass jars and seal tightly. Store up to 6 months in refrigerator. Reheat sauce over low heat before serving.







Gift Idea:

For an elegant presentation, pour the sauce into a 12-ounce six-sided or smooth-sided jar. Affix a ribbon to the middle of the jar with craft glue or double-sided tape, and attach the gift tag or make a label (be sure to include directions for storage and use). For an extra-special gift, include assorted fruit or and unfrosted cake, such as angel Food or pound cake, with the sauce.
