A temporary platform, usu. of planks supported on poles or suspended, for people engaged in the erection, repair, decoration, etc., of a building. Also sing. & in pl. = SCAFFOLDING. ME.
A movable wooden structure used in sieges. LME-E16.
a. A raised platform, stand, or temporary stage, on which a person is exhibited to public view or a play (esp. a mystery play) performed. LME-L17.
b. A raised platform for spectators; a gallery in a theatre or church. L15-L18.
