The action or an act of searching; (an instance of) examination, investigation, or scrutiny for the purpose of finding someone or something or of finding out something. Foll. by after, for, of. LME.
global search: see GLOBAL 2. in search of in quest of, in order to find; occupied in searching for, trying to find.
