<anatomy, nerve> A division of the vestibular part of the eighth cranial nerve; it gives off branches to the macula of the utricle (utricular nerve) and to the cristae of the ampullae of the anterior and lateral saemicircular ducts (anterior and lateral ampullary nerves).

Synonym: nervus utriculoampullaris.
