thiostrepton
<chemical> Polypeptide-containing antibiotic isolated from a species of streptomyces in new mexican soil. It appears to be highly active against gram-positive bacteria. In veterinary medicine, thiostrepton has been used in mastitis caused by gram-negative organisms and in dermatologic disorders.

Pharmacological action: antibiotics, peptide.
