<enzyme> Enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of a phenol sulfate to yield a phenol and sulfate. Arylsulfatase a, b, and c have been separated. A deficiency of arylsulfatases is one of the causes of metachromatic leukodystrophy (leukodystrophy, metachromatic).
