Pasteur, Louis (medicine)

Pasteur, Louis
<person> A French chemist and biologist who founded the field of bacteriology and developed the germ theory. He also invented pasteurisation and created the first vaccines against anthrax and rabies.

Lived: 1822-1895.

fluorescence polarization immunoassay (medicine)

fluorescence polarization immunoassay
Fluoroimmunoassay where detection of the hapten-antibody reaction is based on measurement of the increased polarization of fluorescence-labelled hapten when it is combined with antibody. The assay is very useful for the measurement of small haptenic antigens such as drugs at low concentrations.
