Powassan encephalitis
<neurology, paediatrics> An acute disease of children varying clinically from undifferentiated febrile illness to encephalitis.

It is caused by the Powassan virus, a member of the Flaviviridae family, and transmitted by ixodid ticks; most frequently seen in Canada.
