<chemical> An orally active inhibitor of angiotensin I-converting enzyme. It reduces elevated blood pressure by inhibiting the renin-angiotensin system and also inhibits pressure responses to exogenous angiotensin I.

Pharmacological action: angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, antihypertensive agents.
