decorticate reflex
<neurology, physiology> Spontaneous flexion of the elbows with the legs extended. Accompanies severe damage to the contralateral cerebral hemisphere above the midbrain (for example stroke).

The destruction of the cerebral cortex, usually due to anoxia, trauma or toxic insult, may proceed to decerebration (a more severe neurologic state).

3. A retrograde change of the entire body or in a particular organ, as the retrograde changes in the female genital organs that result in normal size after delivery.

4. The progressive degeneration occurring naturally with advancing age, resulting in shrivelling of organs or tissues.
