Ellis type 2 glomerulonephritis (medicine)


Ellis type 2 glomerulonephritis


An obsolete designation for glomerulonephritis which is usually not related to preceding bacterial infection; characterised by an insidious onset of the nephrotic syndrome, failure of complete remission, and eventual development of chronic renal failure. The kidneys usually show membranous glomerulonephritis.

Synonym: Ellis type 2 nephritis.
