Essex, the Earl of (oh)
(1566-1601) an English soldier and politician. For many years he was a close friend and adviser of Queen Elizabeth I, but after their friendship ended she ordered him to be put in prison and, later, to be killed.
DATIVE (law)
DATIVE. That which may be given or disposed of at will and pleasure. It sometimes means that which is not cast upon the party by the law, or by a sometimes means that which is not cast upon the party by the law, or by a testator, but which is given by the magistrate; in this sense it is that testator, but which is given by the magistrate; in this sense it is that tutorship is dative, when the tutor is appointed by the magistrate.
