Goneril (oh)



one of King Lear's daughters in the play King Lear by William Shakespeare. She and her sister Regan pretend to love their father to make him give them his land, and then treat him so cruelly that he becomes mentally ill. Goneril finally kills Regan with poison, and then kills herself.

A thin septum composed of glia fibre and leptomeningeal connective tissue in the cervical spinal cord marking the border between the gracile fasciculi and cuneatus of the dorsal funiculus.

Synonym: septum cervicale intermedium.
