Ascarididae


A family of large intestinal roundworms that includes the important nematode of man, Ascaris lumbricoides, the abundant roundworm of swine, Ascaris suum, and the common ascarids of dogs and cats, Toxocara and Toxascaris species.

Origin: G. Askaris, an intestinal worm
