Yield: Makes 1 dozen cookies



Ingredients:



1recipe Butter Cookie Dough (recipe follows)

1egg, lightly beaten

Small pretzels, white frosting, toasted coconut, edible glitter dust and assorted small decors









Preparation:





1.Prepare and chill Butter Cookie Dough as directed.2.Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease cookie sheets. Roll dough on floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out 12 (4-inch) triangles. Reroll scraps to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out 12 (1-1/2-inch) circles.3.Place triangles on prepared cookie sheets. Brush with beaten egg. Attach circle, pressing gently. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or just until edges begin to brown. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.4.Attach pretzels to back of each cookie for wings using frosting as "glue." Let stand 30 minutes or until frosting is set. Pipe frosting around hairline of each angel; sprinkle with coconut and glitter dust.5.Decorate cookies with frosting, coconut, glitter dust and decors to resemble angels as desired. Let cookies stand 1 hour or until frosting is set.







Butter Cookie Dough



Ingredients:



3/4cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened

1/4cup granulated sugar

1/4cup packed light brown sugar

1egg yolk

1-3/4cups all-purpose flour

3/4teaspoon baking powder

1/8teaspoon salt









Preparation:





1.Combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and egg yolk in medium bowl. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.2.Cover; refrigerate about 4 hours or until firm.
