An exotic fruit belonging to the passion fruit family, granadillas are twice the size of passion fruit with a smooth, brittle, orange shell and a mild, sweet pulp inside made of a mass of flesh-covered green seeds. Only the seeds are eaten, not the shell. They’re available all year round and the refreshing tangy flesh is good eaten straight from the shell, scooped out with a spoon (it tastes a little blander than passion fruit), or used to flavour ice cream, yoghurt, jellies or mousses.
