Hot Mulled Cider

Yield: Makes 6 cups



Ingredients:



1orange

1lemon

12whole cloves

6cups apple cider

1/3cup sugar

3cinnamon sticks

12whole allspice berries









Preparation:





1.Poke 6 evenly spaced holes in ring around orange and lemon with point of wooden skewer. Insert whole cloves into holes. Cut slice out of orange to include all cloves. Cut remainder of orange into thin slices. Repeat procedure with lemon. Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan. Bring just to a simmer over medium heat. Do not boil. Reduce heat to low; cook 5 minutes. Pour cider through strainer into mugs. Discard fruit and seasonings. Garnish as desired.
