Ingredients



1 onion, peeled and finely chopped250g/9oz mincemeat55g/2oz peas 2 tbsp soy sauce12 sheets filo pastry85g/3oz unsalted butter, melted1 litre/35fl oz vegetable oil, for deep-frying



Method



1. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.2. Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep saucepan to 180C/350F, or until a cube of bread browns in 15 seconds when added to the oil.3. In a bowl, mix together the onion, mincemeat, peas and soy sauce.4. Lay the filo pastry out on a flat surface and brush with the melted butter.5. Place a spoonful of the mixture at one end and fold into triangle shapes, making sure the edges are sealed.6. Deepfry in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden.7. Remove using a slotted spoon, drain on kitchen paper and serve.
