Baccarat glass (sh)




Glassware manufactured since 1765 in Baccarat, France.

The firm originally produced soda glass for windows and industrial use. In 1816 it was acquired by a Belgian manufacturer of lead crystal; since then it has specialized in this type of glass, especially paperweights. Baccarat exhibited works in the important 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris. Today the company produces tableware in both historical and modern designs.
