U.S. animators.

The brothers worked as newspaper cartoonists before founding their own studio in 1921 to make animated cartoons. In the mid 1920s they produced the first sound-on-Film animations. They later created and produced the popular cartoon series Betty Boop (1931-39), Popeye the Sailor (1929-42), and Superman (1941-42) and the feature-length cartoon Gulliver's Travels (1939).
